This short 4-day journey begins with a train departure from the luxurious Rovos Rail station in Pretoria. The Pride of Africa will first head south towards Johannesburg and the Witwatersrand goldfields, and then west along the Magaliesberg mountain. The next day, immediately after some minor border formalities in Mafikeng, the train will head north, passing Botswanas capital Gaborone, the Tropic of Cancer, heading for the Zimbabwean border at Plumtree. You will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of wild animals right from the windows of the train, passing through the unique Hwange National Park. After a short stop at Thompsons junction, the journey ends upon arrival at Victoria Falls, located on the great Zambezi River. The Victoria Falls – Now In Its 150 Millionth Fantastic Year – Reaches Its Zenith In About May each year.
This tour is conducted in the morning and afternoon. En route, clients may be taken past the ‘Big Tree’ where they may stop and take photos. Clients will be accompanied through the Rainforest by one of our qualified Guides who will give a brief history of the Falls themselves as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife and other points of interest. Guides are also happy to assist clients with photographs whilst visiting this most spectacular of waterfalls. Raincoats are provided when needed.

On these trips guests paddle their own canoes, following their qualified Canoe Guide as he leads the way.
Clients are collected at approximately 7.00 am.
Clients take short game drive in an open vehicle into the Zambezi National Park perhaps seeing some game on the way.
A continental breakfast is served and the guide will give a thorough safety briefing, which will cover: safety conditions of the river, rapids, canoeing instruction, and general information. You will be asked to sign an indemnity form.
The time is spent canoeing (18kms) downstream, running small grade one and two rapids, exploring channels and bird and game viewing.
A picnic lunch is served on the mainland or an island.
Cold soft-drinks, mineral water and beers are served at the take out point at the end of the trip and clients are back in Victoria Falls by about 2.00 pm.

The Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary and Art of Africa have teamed up to create an eco conscious and unique elephant experience, brought to life by the artistic strokes of your fingertips, while surrounded by the African bush.
Guests will learn about the elephant as well as their history and how they came to be in our care as well as the threats facing elephant populations today, in an interesting and informative talk.
Guests then venture down to a waterhole and mud wallow where, under the shade of an enormous Mopane tree, they will find a chair and easel – each set up with a fresh sheet of paper. Brightly coloured aprons and palettes with bright splotches of paint will also be handed out.
A private tutor is provided to guide guests through a painting workshop, using their sketch pads and brush to capture the moment. Soon guests’ white sheets of paper will be transformed into a canvas with a glorious blue sky, sunshine, yellow, brown or green grass and of course elephants.
Once finished, guests will go back to “The Wallow” for a delicious two course buffet lunch accompanied by a cold beverage rounding off a perfect morning’s experience. After lunch guests will be transferred back to their lodgings in Victoria Falls Town.

Clients are taken to an authentic rural village approximately 20km from Victoria Falls town where they are given the opportunity to watch local villagers going about their daily tasks.
The tour enables the client to see rural life first hand; visiting rural homes, watching their fields being tended and possibly getting the chance to help in some of the day-to-day chores. Meet the village chief and learn about the way of life from him.
