Кроме товара рынок дает нам возможность почувствовать пульс этого африкано-мусульманского острова, услышать многогососицу разных диалектов местных языков. После рынка мы направляемся к Англиканскому Кафедральному Собору, построенному Бишопом Стирсом в 1874 году рядом с рынком, где торговали человеческим товаром. Ведь Занзибар был одним из самых крупных центров работорговли. Мы увидим помещения, где держали рабов.
Посетим Национальный Музей Занзибара, который перенесет нас назад в прошлое к 1925 году. Среди экспонатов много реликтовых предметов эпохи султаната и предметов, свидетельствующих о ранних исследователях Восточной Африки.
Еще один исторический памятник эпохи великих открытий – Португальский Форт (1700 год) и загадочный House of Wonders (1883).
