This short 4-day journey begins with a train departure from the luxurious Rovos Rail station in Pretoria. Morning, afternoon and evening safaris led by experienced rangers in open vehicles. Aquila is home to all the Big Five - elephants, lions, buffalo, rhinoceroses, the rare Cape mountain leopard, caracals, bat-eared foxes and jackals, as well as giraffes and hippos and ostriches. The reserve has zebras, numerous species of antelope such as wildebeest, springbok, oryx, steenbok, blesbok, jumper antelope, duiker, and the largest antelope, the Eland.
