  • Addis Ababa - Jinka Day 1 30.04

    Arrival in Addis Ababa - flight to Jinka, excursion to the mountains.

    Arrival in Addis Ababa , meeting with the guide and breakfast.
    Then transfer to the airport. Fly to Jinka.
    Excursion to the mountains (on foot), where the Aari people live.
    Jinka, the administrative center of the Aari people, with a wonderful ethnographic museum, is a must-see because only from Jinka you can get to the area where the Mursi people live. In Jinka, you can walk to the local market and buy fresh fruit and the most delicious bananas in the world.

  • Turmi Day 2 01.05

    Excursion to the village of the Mursi people, transfer to Turmi, excursion to the village of the Hamer people.

    In the morning excursion to the village of the Mursi people, return to Jinka and transfer to Turmi.
    The Mursi people of the Nilotic language group live west of the Mago National Park. Mursi women cut their lower lip and insert a clay disc into it. This is done for beauty, because the larger the disc in the lip, the more attractive the girl is considered, and 50 bulls will pay for her when she is married! It is these clay discs that attract professional photographers and ordinary tourists from all over the world.
    Moving to Turmi (265 km) , checking into a hotel and walking tour to the village of the Hamer people.
    Local markets are an important part of the economic and social life of the southern tribes. These markets gather in several places on different days of the week: Kay Afar on Thursdays, Turmi on Mondays and Thursdays, Al Duba on Tuesdays, Dimeka on Tuesdays and Saturdays, etc. In the market you can see goods that are sold and bought by local residents, take pictures of representatives of different peoples who came to this market from remote villages, and also buy local souvenirs.

  • Turmi Day 3 02.05

    Visiting the villages of the people: dassenech and karo

    In the morning, an excursion to the village of the Dassenech people, then an excursion to the village of the Karo people.
    Dimeka and Turmi are large settlements of the Hamer people. Hamerok women can be seen from afar: hairstyle with many small braids, richly greased with a mixture of clay and ocher, leather skirts decorated with cowrie shells, as well as brass bracelets and massive collars for married ladies. Tourists can attend the initiation ceremony, which includes jumping over the bulls or the traditional dances of the Hamer Evangadi. However, keep in mind that these ceremonies cannot be “ordered” for money. In the villages of Dimeka and Turmi, you can also visit the local market.
    Omorate is a settlement not far from the border with Kenya and Sudan, not far from Lake Turkana. From there, tourists, having crossed the Omo River by boat, get to the village of the Dassenech people. This people leads a semi-nomadic lifestyle, raising cattle and small ruminants.
    Return to Turmi in the evening and rest at the hotel. 300 km

  • Carriage Minch Day 4 03.05

    Transfer to Arba Minch, excursion to the village of the konso people.

    Departure from Turmi in the morning and transfer to Arba Minch . On the way, excursion to the village of the konso people .
    Konso, the most populous people in southern Ethiopia (about 300,000 or more) are of the Kushite language group. Since ancient times, this people has been practicing a system of terraced farming and irrigation, organic fertilizers, crop rotation, and grows almost everything that can grow in this region. Special mention should be made of the moringa tree, which has amazing medicinal qualities, as well as the highest grade coffee. KONSO CULTURAL LANDSCAPE is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site

    Arrival in Arba Minch in the evening and rest at the hotel. There is a pool and spa.

  • Addis Ababa Day 5 04.05.

    Return to Addis Ababa

    Transfer to the airport and flight to Addis Ababa. Purchase of souvenirs and gifts. Transfer to the hotel. Short city tour with visit to the National Museum. Dinner in the evening in a traditional restaurant with live music.
