If youre a Big Cat lover, a photographer, want to see white tigers in the wild (found nowhere else in the world), want to try a night vision safari to spot the nocturnal creatures of the Karoo desert, or are simply looking for a unique experience, Tiger Canyon wont disappoint!
Everything here is permeated with the magical energy of tigers.
This is probably the only place in the world where you can see them in large numbers, up close, quickly, without dust or crowds. Tiger Canyon is a place of vast expanses, surreal landscapes, fantastic sunsets, and an endless starry sky.
In addition to tigers, you can see cheetahs, rare antelopes, servals, and secretive nocturnal creatures, including the ardvark and aardwolf.
Why is it interesting:
We visited here and realized there are still truly wild places in South Africa. And before our departure home, at dawn, two leopards came to the lodge. We even saw one, walking along the bottom of a salt marsh, followed by the cries of two crows. Now we really want to show you this place, so weve put together several tours and are waiting for your requests!
Kalagadi Transnational Park is a part of the Kalahari the size of the Netherlands or twice the size of Kruger Park. It stretches across South Africa and Botswana, off the beaten track. A must-see is to hear the roar of a black-maned lion, experience a sand dune safari, and see the rich wildlife that has adapted to the harsh conditions. Nights in the Kalahari are incomparable. A starry sky opens overhead and the Milky Way rises. Here you can encounter lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, jackals, and a host of small predators. Youll see the secretary bird strutting, the ostrich kicking up dust in its mating dance, and the little kori dropping like a stone from a height to impress a girlfriend. You might even see Bushmen here.
